Department of Radiotherapy

Dr
Manoj Gupta, Professor, was awarded international fellowship of Association of
Radiation Oncologist of India and he visited UCSD, California, USA for one month. -
Dr Munish Gupta,
SR, was awarded National fellowship of Association of Radiation Oncologist of
India and visited Rajeev Gandhi Cancer Hospital, New Delhi for one months.

Departmental Clinical Meetings: A
case of "Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)" and another of "Atypical presentation
of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)" were presented in the two CPCs held on
5th June and 27th Nov., 2008. -
Trainings:
Dr Ravi C. Sharma, Dr Ramesh Kumar, Dr Dinesh Dutt Sharma imparted training to
5 batches of regular training of 12-13 days and 2 batches of refresher training
of 5-6 days duration to HIV, STI and TI Counsellors from North Zone (Delhi & Haryana,
UP etc.). The training programme was organised by the Community Medicine Deptt.
of IGMC, Shimla. -
Celebrating
International Health days: The Department, celebrated 'World Mental Health Day
(10th October, 2008)' at IGMC, Shimla on 15.10.2009 under the year's theme: 'MAKING
MENTAL HEALTH A GLOBAL PRIORITY: SCALING UP SERVICES THROUGH CITIZEN ADVOCACY
AND ACTION.' Department

The Department of Community Medicine has signed a Memorandum
of Understanding(MOU) with Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS) for Global
Fund Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria(GFATM) for HIV Counsellors training
for the next 5 years - The Department of community Medicine
has been declared as "Centre of Excellence" by National AIDS Control
Organisation (NACO) in the year 2008
- The department is conducting PGDMCH
course in collaboration with IGNOU, Delhi.
- NEAC 2008-09 project in the
Department of Community Medicine.
