The team of CTVS department was awarded
with State Award Himachal Civil Services Award in
the year 2010 for starting open heart surgeries and
performing 500 open heart surgeries.
Dr. Brij, Sharma, Astt. Prof. Gastroenterology
was awarded with Best Resident award in AIIMS, New
Delhi for his tenure in AIIMS, New Delhi.
Ist Nursing College in Govt. Sector
in Himachal Pradesh namely Sister Nivedita Govt. Nursing
College Shimla was inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister
of H.P. on 23-08-2010.
New 64 slice CT scan machine
and 2nd Telecobalt unit was inaugurated by Hon'ble
Chief Minister of H.P. on 23-08-2010.
Ist Eye Bank of the State was made
functional w.e.f. 23-08-2010 and two optical penetrating
eye grafting has been performed successfully.
Separate Department of Immunohaematology
and Blood Transfusion has also been started.
Medical Council of India permitted
IGMC, Shimla to increase the MBBS seats to 100 from
existing 65 from the academic session 2010 -11.
